The term "fine jewelry" mostly comes down to the materials that are used to craft the piece, usually precious metals, and sometimes with genuine gemstones, too. All of JENNY BIRD's fine jewelry is made from recycled 14-karat solid gold. And as you'd expect with fine jewelry, each piece is thoughtfully designed by Jenny and artfully slow-crafted by artisans in Thailand and China using suppliers who are part of the Responsible Jewelry Council. Compared to other lower-karat golds, 14k gold jewelry is less likely to tarnish, but some subtle changes can still happen due to oxidation. To keep your JENNY BIRD 14k gold pieces looking their best, we recommend an occasional soak for a few minutes in warm water with a few drops of dish soap, then gently pat them dry with a lint-free cloth. Yes, you can wear 14k solid gold in the shower (and bathing and swimming too). The material is widely considered to be waterproof, but we prefer to think of them as water-resistant, seeing that it will stay its brightest and best self with less exposure to water, and especially things in it, like soap and chlorine.
