Getting knots out of your necklaces requires a gentle touch and tons of patience. Sit in good light and lay the necklace over a flat surface to avoid it getting further tangled as you work. It can help to use a needle or tweezers if it's a particularly dainty chain necklace. Of course, your best bet is to avoid it getting tangled in the first place; hang your necklaces separately when you're not wearing them.
