Meet the Maker: Shafiq Sawari

Since moving here from Afghanistan, Shafiq has settled into the Toronto landscape, and we can say with certainty that Canada is lucky to have a very talented new metalsmith. Shafiq was one of the artisans who worked on my collection with Far+Wide Collective in Kabul; he recently left his thriving jewelry workshop there to start a new life in Canada.

He specializes in stone setting, and is an expert at inlaying them perfectly.
